ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - With just over two weeks to go before the 2017 opener on Aug. 21, the UCF football team had a packed day on Wednesday, starting with the second scrimmage of #KnightsCamp and concluding with the team's annual media day.

Wednesday's scrimmage was the first of the fall held inside Spectrum Stadium.  The Knights went for about 90 minutes in the heat, before breaking and getting set to meet with the Orlando media.  Head Coach Scott Frost then addressed the media and 30 players made themselves available for interviews and photos to help promote the start of the 2017 campaign.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"There's a lot of sacrifice that goes into [being a college football player]. I admire the characteristics and traits that football brings out in guys. They have to be good students and good athletes. They have to be dedicated and committed to both. I think we have guys that exemplify that at this university. I'm proud of what our guys have done on and off the field. There's a lot of time demands, but I think they're manageable. It's definitely possible to be a great football player, a great student and a great person off the field. In fact, those are the guys that I want to be around on and off the field." - Scott Frost

FROST ON SECOND SCRIMMAGE
"The second scrimmage was good, but not what I wanted it to be. I think the guys are a little worn down through camp, but I need to see more energy from our team than what I saw today. It seemed that it had a practice vibe to it, rather than a dress rehearsal for a game day vibe. We got a lot of guys giving us everything they have with attention to detail and some guys who haven't figured it out yet.

"It concerns me and it doesn't. We have a lot of guys that are doing what we ask of them. When we scrimmage, we're going three or four deep at a position. Sometimes, it's some young guys that haven't figured it out yet who need to make improvements. I think that all the things get better when you dial it down to your starting unit to start game planning. We can fix all those things. We need to fix the enthusiasm and energy on offense. It was hot out there today, but that's no excuse. We live in Florida. It's going to be hot. I want to see our guys go out and attack it, and I didn't see enough of that today."
