HELSINKI, Finland (UCFKnights.com) -- Rising senior Juuso Kahlos won his country's amateur championship Saturday. Kahlos, a native of Espoo, FInland, took medalist honors at the FInnish Amateur Championship over the weekend.
Kahlos was the only golfer in the tournament to card scores of par or better for all three rounds of the tournament. He opened with an even-par 71 Thursday at the Helsinki Golf Club.
Kahlos recorded his best round of the tournament Friday with a three-under 68. He followed that up with a two-under 69 on Saturday, winning the tournament by three strokes. Kahlos was one of just three golfers to finish under par in a field of more than 90 participants.
Kahlos will join his UCF teammates back in Orlando in a few weeks to begin preparations for the 2017-18 collegiate golf season.
