ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - After a day off from practice and a team bowling event Wednesday night, #KnightsCamp returned to action on Thursday with the UCF football team practicing outdoors in shells with exactly three weeks to the first game of the 2017 season.

BIGGEST CRIB AT UCF
One of the funny stories out of #KnightsCamp has been star linebacker Shaquem Griffin staying in the football facility - the Wayne Densch Sports Center - for the entirety of camp.  The 2016 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year decided he'd get the most out of his final year of fall camp by staying and sleeping right where all the action is.

For more on Shaquem's stay check out the two video features below:

MORE FROM THE FIRST SCRIMMAGE
The Knights held their first scrimmage of camp on Tuesday and coordinators Troy Walters and Erik Chinander gave their thoughts Thursday morning.

Troy Walters
On the scrimmage:
"First and foremost, we got out healthy. That's always a huge deal, because anytime you go live tackling you want to come out healthy."

On the offense in the scrimmage
"There was a lot to learn from. There were some ups and downs. We made some plays, but at the same time, we need to come together as an offense. The guys know what to do. Now it's all about the details."

On Noah Vedral
"He did a good job running the offense. He was calm and showed composure. He understood what we're trying to do and made plays. It was a great performance for a freshman and we look for him to build on that."

Erik Chinander
On the scrimmage
"The guys who were supposed to play good, played good. They didn't get as many reps as the guys we wanted to see a little more action of. In that next crew, there were some good things and some bad things. Overall I was pleased, but we have a ways to go."
