ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Matt Williams scored 14 points on four three-pointers as the Miami Heat fell to the New York Knicks on the final day of the NBA Summer League in Orlando on Thursday morning at Amway Center.
 
After missing the first couple of games in Orlando due to a twisted ankle suffered in practice, Williams averaged 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds while playing 28.0 minutes per game in a pair of contests against the Knicks and Detroit Pistons.
 

Williams, a native or Orlando and Jones High School product, saw his first NBA action on Tuesday, playing 27 minutes in a loss to the Pistons.  His only made field goal of the afternoon, Williams hit a buzzer-beating three from the corner to end the third quarter.
 
On Thursday, Williams finally got into a rhythm, scoring 14 points on four three-pointers in the Heat's loss to the Knicks. He also added two rebounds, two assists and a steal in his final game in Orlando for the summer.
 
Williams and the Heat will next participate in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League, beginning Saturday, July 8 against the Spurs. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
