ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF track & field team and three of its student-athletes earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors on Friday.
UCF was among the 218 women's teams to earn the accolades for holding a cumulative GPA of 300 or higher. The Knights, who collected the honors for the eighth time since 2002, held a team GPA of 3.017.
Individually, three members of the squad were among the 752 female student-athletes that garnered academic honors from the USTFCCCA.
Anne-Marie Blaney (Master in Health Care Informatics), Rosie Chamberlain (Sport and Exercise Science) and Ebony Crear (Human Communication) were named to the All-Academic Team.
The three were recognized for a combination of excellence athletically and academically. To qualify for the award, each student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met one of the follow athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
It was the third career track honor for Blaney, while Chamberlain picked up her second career nod. Crear garnered the award for the first time.
