ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Just beyond the halfway point of the summer league seasons, the UCF baseball team has definitely left its mark across the country.
 
From Bryce Tucker representing the United States of America on the Collegiate National Team to five players being named All-Stars, the Knights have a lot to show for their efforts this summer.
 
Check out some of their highlights below.
 
Thad Ward – Matsu Miners (Alaska)
• Named to the ABL All-Star Team on July 16
• Leads the league with a record of 5-1 and 14 appearances
• His 1.65 ERA ranks second in the league for pitcher with more than 25 innings of work
• Opponents have hit a .222 and scored one run against the righty all season long
• Picked up wins two of his last three outings against the Chugiak Chinooks on July 6 and the Anchorage Bucs on July 13. • Miners lead the ABL with a record of 20-12.

Bryce Tucker – USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

• Made eight appearances representing his country with an ERA of 0.00 in eight and one-third innings of work • Tossed one and one-third innings against Chinese Taipei and struck out three (6/29)
• Came out of the bullpen in three games against Cuba to fan four with one walk (7/2-7)
• Struck out a pair against the Futures Baseball League All-Stars (7/11)
 
Ray Alejo – Altamonte Springs Scorpions (Florida)
• Leads the league in batting average with a .372 clip
• Driven in 11 RBI with 29 hits, two doubles, two triples and four home runs
• Went 1-for-4 with an RBI at the Florida League All-Star Game
• Represented the Florida League in the Prospect Showcase, going 3-for-4 with three RBI against the Sunbelt League (7/15)
 
Anthony George – Altamonte Springs Scorpions (Florida)

• .333 batting average ranks second on the team behind Alejo
• Driven in nine RBI on 18 hits with a perfect 8-for-8 stealing bases
• Homered in the Florida League All-Star Game and appeared in both outings at the Prospect Showcase
• Went on a six-game hitting streak between June 26 and July 11
 Dallas Beaver – Cincinnati Steam (Great Lakes)
• Hitting .355 to tie for team lead and tie for 10th in the GLSCL, as of July 20
• Brought home 21 RBI and walked 18 times with nine doubles, one triple and two home runs
• Named to the GLSCL South All-Star Team
• Ranks third among catchers in slugging percentage at .496
• Prior to the All-Star break, went 3-for-4 in back-to-back games against the Hamilton Joes (7/15-16)
 
Matthew Mika – Lakeshore Chinooks (Northwoods)

• Ranks third on the team with a .341 clip at the plate and sixth in the league
• Notched 18 RBI, two home runs, seven doubles and a 21-for-23 mark in stolen bases
• Blasted a grand slam against Fond du Lac on July 20 in a 9-3 win
• Tallied 13 multi-hit games this season
• Scored the winning run for the South All-Stars on July 19 after lacing a double to right-center earlier in the eighth inning
 Rylan Thomas – Lakeshore Chinooks (Northwoods)

• Tied for ninth in the Northwoods and first among catchers with seven home runs, as of July 20
• Hitting .321 at the plate with 38 RBI and a slugging percentage of .565
• Went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI against Fond du Lac on July 20
 Michael Higgins – Saunton Braves (Valley)
•.273 clip at the plate on the year to go with 11 RBI and three home runs.
• Hitting streak extended four games with a base knock against the Winchester Royals on July 20
• Driven in six RBI over the last six games, as of July 20
• Went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks in the Prospect Showcase
 
Maximillian Wood – Saunton Braves (Valley)
• Tops the team charts and sits fourth in the Valley with a .377 batting average
• Slugging percentage of .604 ranks third in the league
• In the midst of a 17-game hitting streak on July 20, a league best, which features 10 multi-hit outings
