ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Senior Lauren Aiello closed out her UCF rowing career with First Team All-Region recognition from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
The native of Welland, Ontario, garnered first team laurels for the third consecutive season, and was the only Knight over the last three years to earn the distinction.
A highly decorated Knight, she was named to the American Athletic Conference First Team during all four years of her UCF career. She was a two-time member of The American Boat of the Year with the 2015 and 2017 Varsity Eights earning the honor.
Aiello rowed in the Varsity Eight throughout her entire UCF career, and helped the Black and Gold to three consecutive league titles and three straight NCAA appearances. The Knights posted a program-best 18th place finish at the 2017 NCAA Championship on May 28.
The all-region awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each of the five regions, organized into first and second-team selections.
