ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's golf team is headed to an NCAA Regional Championship for the sixth time in head coach Bryce Wallor's eight-year tenure. The announcement was made Thursday afternoon on a live broadcast on Golf Channel.
The Knights, who are currently ranked No. 47 in the latest Golfstat.com rankings, will be headed to The Grove to take part in the regional being hosted by Middle Tennessee State. UCF is the No. 8 seed in the Murfreesboro Region.
"This has been a solid season for our program," Wallor said. "This team has won two events and had several strong results from start to finish. We are still what I consider a young team and I think this NCAA experience will help us continue to mature and grow for the future."
The Knights are one of 81 teams that will take part in six NCAA Regional Championship tournaments, which will be played May 15-17. The top five teams in each of the six regionals advance to make it 30 teams playing at the NCAA Championship. The championship is scheduled for May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
