LEXINGTON, Ky. (UCFKnights.com) – Two members of the UCF track and field team raced at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Friday evening. Both Knights just missed the cut to advance in their respective events.
SheKara Martin was included in the advancing runners in the first round of the 200-meter dash until the final heat. Her time of 23.39 was the seventh-fastest non-automatic qualifier, putting her just outside the list of advancing runners.
In the 800-meter quarterfinals, Rosie Chamberlain finished 18th overall with a time of 2:08.36.
UCF's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams will compete on Saturday, along with Jhane' Carter in the shot put and Anne-Marie Blaney in the 5,000-meter run.
