LEXINGTON, Ky. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF track and field team opened action at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Thursday at the Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Complex.

Rosie Chamberlain posted a time of 2:09.13 in the first round of the 800-meter run, finishing third in her heat and advancing to Friday's quarterfinals. Slated for a 6:30 p.m. start, Chamberlain will need to finish in the top 12 to move on to the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore.

Ebony Crear posted a 1:01.18 mark in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 37th overall. In the hammer throw, Chelsea Gobourne finished 34th with a throw of 177-4/54.06m and Tayla Greene finished 44th with a 165-11/50.59m mark. SheKara Martin just missed advancing in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.62 for 26th. In the 400-meter dash, Ashley Jocelyn finished fifth in her heat with a time of 54.14, but just missed the cut to advance to the quarterfinals as she finished 28th overall. Anne-Marie Blaney posted a 34:22.23 mark in the 10,000-meter run to finish 16th and just miss the qualifying mark to advance to the NCAA Championship.

SheKara Martin will race in the first round of the 200-meter dash at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. UCF's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams will compete on Saturday, along with Jhane' Carter in the shot put and Anne-Marie Blaney in the 5,000-meter run.
