CLEARWATER, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The winds were gusting and skies were darkening at Spectrum Field Wednesday, while the UCF Baseball team waited to take the field in the American Athletic Conference Tournament. The game between Memphis and Cincinnati was in the 7th inning, when American Conference officials announced that they were postponing the elimination game between the Knights and Green Wave until Thursday at 11 a.m.
With a severe thunderstorm bearing down on the the area, tournament officials conferred with both head coaches. Certain play would be interrupted, they opted to reschedule the game. After dropping Tuesday's first-round tilt to East Carolina, the Black and Gold now a win or go home situation for the duration of the tournament.
The Knights took two out of three games at Tulane in the regular season scoring 25 runs on 34 hits and hitting .304 as a team. The winner of Thursday's game will move on to face the loser of of the afternoon tilt between South Florida and ECU in the semifinal round.
All of the remaining games will air on The American Digital Network and Marc Daniels will call UCF games on iHeart Radio and FM 96.9 The game.
