ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF baseball team is headed to FAU for its final midweek tilt of the 2017 regular season. First pitch from The Ballpark of The Palm Beaches is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Knights are 36-16 overall under first-year head coach Greg Lovelady, already notching the most wins since 2012 when UCF made its last NCAA regional appearance. Lovelady has the squad in a three-way tie with Houston and South Florida atop The American, and is looking for a RPI boost with a win over the Owls this week.

NCAA.com currently lists The Black and Gold at 25 in the RPI rankings while FAU checks in at 73.  UCF is also looking for payback, after the Owls came to town and took an 8-3 decision back on April 11. FAU is 30-18-1 this season and currently tied for third in C-USA standings.

The Knights continue to hold the nation's fourth-best total ERA of 2.72 and are ninth in the country with 97 stolen bases. UCF is hitting a combined .284 with 96 doubles, 17 triples, and 43 home runs.

Following the game with the Owls, UCF will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series at home against rival South Florida. The match up, combined with the outcome of the Houston-Cincinnati series, will determine the regular-season conference champion.

Tuesday's audio broadcast will be available here or fans can follow along via live stats.
