ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team returns to action this weekend, sending part of the team to the Sun Angel Classic and the others to the UNF Invite.
The Sun Angel Classic, hosted by Arizona State, begins Friday in Tempe, Ariz. The three-day meet concludes Saturday. The UNF Invite is a one-day meet in Jacksonville.
The Knights open action at the Sun Angel Classic with the hammer throw and pole vault on Friday. Saturday's field events are slated for a 1:45 p.m. ET start, while the running events will begin at 4:38 p.m. ET with the 100-meter hurdles.
UCF will join No. 12 Texas A&M, Arkansas State, BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, New Mexico, Oregon State and Bucknell on the Joe Selleh Track and Sun Angel Stadium.
In Jacksonville, the field events begin at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw, javelin and long jump. The track events kick off at 4:30 p.m. with the 100-meter hurdles, and conclude with the 4x400 meter relays at 8:50 p.m.
The Knights return to action after a solid showing at the Florida Pepsi Relays. UCF posted five personal records, highlighted by school record marks from Anne-Marie Blaney (1500m) and Chelsea Gobourne (hammer throw).
