ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team returns to action on Friday at the Tom Jones Memorial in one final tune-up before the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.
The Knights are set to compete in the one-day meet at the Percy Beard Track. Field events begin at 11 a.m., while running events are slated for a 1 p.m. start. Admission is free.
The Black and Gold return to action after successful performances on both coasts last weekend. Anne-Marie Blaney broke the UCF 10,000-meter record with a winning time of 33:18.81 at the Cardinal Classic in Stanford, Calif. The Knights posted seven top 20 finishes between hammer throw, discus, shot put and javelin action at the Triton Invitational. In Tampa, UCF collected six first-places finishes at the South Florida Collegiate.
The Knights, who won The American Indoor Championship on Feb. 25, head to Houston for the league's outdoor championship May 12-14.
