ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF volleyball team wrapped up its spring season against Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports following the Disney Qualifier on April 8.
"Florida is such an incredibly talented and physical team," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "It was a great challenge for our players especially the younger ones to face elite national physicality. We settled down tremendously after the first set and adhered to our game plan. My goal is to have us serve tough and strategically."
Alli Sabol paced the Knights offensively, tallying 19 kills, while Kia Bright followed behind with nine kills and nine digs. Laché Harper posted eight kills and five digs while Nerissa Moravec rounded the group with six kills and nine digs. Jordan Pingel led the group defensively with 26 digs.
"Our defense did a great job of handling the velocity that they attack with," Dagenais said. "I thought we were smart and used our system in situations where we were at a disadvantage. Once again we are very thankful to the organizers of the Disney Qualifier, the staff at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and the Florida Gators for making the trip to come play us."
