ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team returns to action this weekend at the Clemson Invitational on Lake Hartwell.
The two-day regatta begins with the Varsity Eight at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights will face a tough field of competition, with nine teams ranked in the top 20 nationally. No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Texas, No. 10 Virginia, No. 11 Wisconsin, No. 14 Washington State, No. 15 Syracuse, No. 18 Louisville, No. 19 Duke and No. 20 Indiana are joined by UCF, Oregon State, Oklahoma, Cornell, Columbia, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Clemson, Minnesota, UCLA and Navy.
In its last outing, UCF raced three times against ranked opponents on Lake Natoma in California. The Varsity Eight, who is No. 23 in the in the latest CMAX rankings, has collected a pair of American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week honors this season.
The teams will race twice on Saturday to determine their placing in Sunday's finals.
