ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – A record-setting performance led Anne-Marie Blaney to American Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

The Ocala, Fla., native finished the 5,000-meter run in 15:43.61 at the Mt. Sac Relays on Friday evening. She broke her own record in the event with a time that ranks fourth nationally, and second in the East region.

Blaney previously held the record in the event with a mark of 16:07.37. Friday marks her second record-breaking performance of the outdoor season. She turned in a record time of 4:21.64 in the 1500-meter run at the Pepsi Florida Relays on April 1.

With Tuesday's league recognition, she has now collected her fourth outdoor honor as a Knight. She has accumulated 17 conference awards during her career, which also includes nine cross country and four indoor awards.

The Knights split their squad this weekend, sending a portion to California while the remainder travel to Tampa.
