TORRANCE, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) – A pair of UCF records were set during Friday action at the Mt. Sac Relays. Rosie Chamberlain turned in a record mark in the 800-meter run, while Anne-Marie Blaney broke her own 5,000-meter run record.
Chamberlain turned in a 2:04.19 time to finish fourth overall. The Exeter, England, native, who already held the school record, lowered her personal best mark in the event. Her time ranks fifth nationally this season.
Blaney crossed the line in 15:43.61 to finish seventh overall. The Ocala, Fla., native, who set her second outdoor record this season, posted the fourth-fastest time in the nation. Blaney's previous record in the 5000-meter was 16:07.37.
Brittany Gill added another highlight for the Black and Gold as she turned in a personal-best time of 17:53.03 in the 5,000-meter run to close out the night.
Tere Cooley posted a season-best time of 2:11.84 to finish 25th overall in the 800, and Crystal Tejeda finished with a 2:15.74 mark.
Chamberlain and Blaney gave the Knights a trio of school records on the weekend. Kalleigh Forrester captured the 3,000-meter steeplechase record with a 10:38.07 time on Thursday night.
