TORRANCE, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) - The Mt. Sac Relays started with a record for the UCF track and field team on Thursday. Kalleigh Forrester set a new mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the El Camino College campus.
The New Windsor, N.Y., native won the third heat with a personal best time of 10:38.07, and finished 13th overall. Forrester now holds the school record in the event, besting the previous mark set by Andrea Morrow (10:50.27) in 2004.
Forrester's time ranks 23rd in the East Region this season.
The Knights continues action at the Mt. Sac Relays on Friday.
