ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Coming off a Saturday night practice under the lights in the Bounce House, the Knights were back on the practice fields Monday morning for the 10th training session of the spring.

The Knights are two-thirds of the way through spring practice. Offensively, head coach Scott Frost and the offensive coaches know they need to continue to build on the foundation laid last season. As with virtually any offense in the sport of football, the running game will be key to the Knights' success moving forward.

Running backs coach Ryan Held believes more size and experience for his young group will pay dividends as the Knights move into the fall.

"I like our group," Held said. "Another year in the weight room has helped them. Jawon (Hamilton) has put on 10 pounds. Taj (McGowan) has put on 10 pounds. Some of the guys leaned up. So, we look more powerful out there. We look quicker and faster. All our guys got stronger and more explosive, which I think has helped us on the field. The runs are a lot better than they were last year. There have been a lot of positives in the run game."

While the running backs are looking to improve, the offensive line will be a big part of any offensive success the Knights enjoy in the future. Held said offensive line coach Greg Austin and his unit have done a great job, while noting that everyone on the offense is blocking better.
