ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- As advocates of nutritional education, UCF Athletics gave back to the community by celebrating National Nutrition Month on Wednesday, March 22nd. Student-athletes and staff representing women's track and field, compliance, nutrition, and the office of student-athlete welfare and development joined forces to pack and distribute fruits, vegetables, and healthy packaged meals to nonprofit feeding programs around Central Florida.

"It's hard to believe one in six Central Floridians doesn't know when or from where their next meal is coming," said Trish Kellogg, UCF Athletics Nutritionist. "While volunteering at Second Harvest, I truly felt that giving time is feeding hope."

Second Harvest Food Bank distributes more than 10 million meals a year to 550 local non-profit feeding programs.
