ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- The CFL Big Wheel Deal is a wheelchair basketball tournament organized by Access Life, an organization that bridges the gap for individuals and families living with disabilities. Saturday, March 18th marked the fourth year that UCF Athletics has been involved with the annual event.

The tournament is a unique blend of amateur wheelchair basketball athletes and community volunteers. Staff and student-athlete volunteers representing rowing and women's golf served as referees and players for the competitive wheel chair basketball tournament.

"Over the past few years we have been participating in this tournament and have developed an amazing bond with the families who are a part of the Access Life community," said Davonte Anderson, Assistant Director of Student Athlete Welfare and Development. "What I enjoy most is coming back and seeing the support from the amateur wheelchair basketball athletes year after year."

Team UCF battled it out for a win during game one against the defending champions, the Ocoee Police 23-21. Headed into game two for the championship, the Knights fell to Live Oaks. At the conclusion of the event a total of $8,552 was raised to support future programming for those that Access Life serves in the Orlando community.
