NEW YORK (UCFKnights.com) – With preparations already underway for the NIT semifinal game, Sunday was a full day for the UCF men's basketball team.
The Knights held their final Orlando practice of the 2016-17 season Sunday afternoon before hopping on a charter flight to Newark. The team, with the UCF band and cheer team along for the trip, made their way from the Newark Airport to New York City for the week.
UCF (24-11) will have another full day of preparation on Monday, beginning with practice in the morning. Starting at noon, head coach Johnny Dawkins and select student-athletes will take part in the press luncheon for the four semifinalist teams. The team will also attend the Student-Athletes and Coaches Welcome Dinner on Monday evening.
The Knights hit the hardwood on Tuesday at 9 p.m., facing TCU in an NIT semifinal on ESPN.
