Downed by the Bears

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF dropped its second game of the series against Baylor, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at the UCF Softball Complex. The Knights look to salvage the series against the Bears on Sunday with the first pitch set for noon.

The best chance for the Knights came in the fifth frame. A one-out single was registered by junior second baseman Courtney Rotton. Freshman third baseman Tamesha Glover followed with a double to put a pair in scoring position, but UCF was unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

Freshman Alea White (7-7) made her return to the circle and tossed a complete game, yielding four earned runs. Baylor's Gia Rodoni (8-0) threw a three-hit shutout and tallied seven strikeouts to earn the victory.

The Knights turned their eighth double play of the season to end the fourth inning. Glover jumped up, grabbed a liner at third base and threw to second base to double off the runner.
