ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The penultimate episode of the 2016-17 season of Inside UCF Basketball aired last night on FOX 35 (WOFL) in Orlando and will conclude its run next Monday night (Tuesday morning) at 1 a.m.
This week's edition featured segments on the Knights' wins over Temple and No. 15 Cincinnati, as well as a feature on the UCF players sitting out this season preparing for next year.
The Knights defeated Temple 71-69 on the road on Feb. 22 to win their second straight road game. UCF's B.J. Taylor scored 16 of his 19 game high points in the second half to lead his team to victory.
Four days later, the Knights returned home for their final game of the regular season at CFE Arena. UCF held No. 15 Cincinnati to just 29 percent shooting and Taylor led with 27 points in a 53-49 victory on Senior Day. It marked the first win over a ranked opponent for the Knights since 2011. At 19-10 overall and in fourth place in the American Athletic Conference at 10-7 in league play, it has been an extremely successful season for the Knights in their first year under head coach Johnny Dawkins. The Knights (19-10, 10-7 AAC) will close out the regular season on Thursday when they take on USF (7-20, 1-15). Three points will be up for grabs in the latest edition of the War On I-4 Rivalry Series. The Knights defeated the Bulls 86-64 at CFE Arena back on Jan. 17. Tip-off for Thursday is set for 7 p.m. from the Sun Dome.
