ORLANDO, Fla.(UCFKnights.com)- Sophomore Natalia Serrano was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Serrano went 2-0 in both singles and doubles last week.
On Wednesday, the Barcelona, Spain native earned a 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 victory against No. 82 Michelle Valdez to give the Knights a 3-2 edge over North Florida. Serrano posted a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 come-from-behind victory against Maja Ornberg of Florida Gulf Coast on Feb. 17.
She has been paired with Emilia Granstrom this season at No. 2 doubles, where the duo has not lost a match. The pair posted a 6-4 victory against the Ospreys and a 6-3 win against the Eagles.
This is the second time this season that the Knights have received this accolade. Cortney Cesarini collected the honor on Feb. 7
