GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF men's golf team opened the spring portion of its season Saturday at the SunTrust Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
UCF was 23-over par for the first two rounds, which were played Saturday. The Knights and USF are tied for eighth place in the 15-team tournament. Arkansas leads the tournament at +6. Missouri is second at +11, while the host Gators are +13.
Sophomore Donnie Trosper led the way for the Knights. He tallied back-to-back rounds of 72 (+2) to go 4-over for the first day of action. Trosper sits in a tie for 15th after two rounds of action. Juniors Manuel Elvira and Juuso Kahlos are tied for 38th at +7. Both Elvira and Trosper tallied rounds of 76 and 71, respectively. Sophomore Kyler Tate is also tied for 38th at 7-over. Ryan Stovash rounded out the Knights' lineup, tied for 53rd at +9.
