Opens in a new window Most Promising Multicultural Students

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Senior Linnea Goodman has been outstanding for the Knights on the softball field over the last four years.

This week, she was recognized for her excellence outside of athletics as she was selected among the American Advertising Federation's 50 Most Promising Multicultural Students.

The Long Beach, Calif., native was nominated for the award by the advertising and public relations program coordinator, Joan McCain.

"I know that many talented individuals applied and I am truly honored to have been selected to receive this award and represent UCF," Goodman said. "It feels great to know that my passion for advertising is portrayed in my work and I feel like this award has validated that I am in the right industry."

Since 1997, more than 800 students from 220 schools across the country have participated in the four-day seminar, which began on Monday. Goodman is one of two UCF advertising students currently in New York City accepting the award.

"You get to meet with recruiters from different agencies and different companies," Goodman said. "We go to different seminars and learn about emerging trends in the industry and network."

On Friday morning, Goodman will make the cross-country trip to Palm Springs to join her teammates for the Mary Nutter Classic. UCF will take on Cal Poly and UCLA on Friday at 6 p.m. ET in Palm Springs, Calif.
