ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Junior Korey Lovett currently sits at No. 43 in the 2017 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's Division I singles rankings.
The Brevard, N.C., native opened the season on a 5-0 run, posting wins over then-No. 23 Texas Tech, New Mexico, Arizona, Auburn and Bethune-Cookman.
Lovett becomes the first Knight to be ranked in singles, since Mariano Porter in the 2015 season. Porter was ranked 103rd in the Oracle/ITA preseason singles rankings.
This is not the first time the junior has been found in the rankings. During the 2015 season, he was ranked 106th in the Oracle/ITA preseason rankings.
The Knights continue play on Feb. 17 against Tennessee Tech at the USTA National Campus at 1p.m. They follow it up with a match against Florida Atlantic on Feb. 19 at Noon.
