ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Following a dominant campaign last fall, redshirt senior Harrison Richmond and senior Mariano Porter earned a No. 27 ranking in the 2017 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's Division I doubles rankings, which were announced on Wednesday.

"Harrison and Mariano played very well in the fall," head coach John Roddick said. "They are very deserving of beginning the year that high in the rankings. They both have great double instincts and I'm looking forward to them having a great team season."

The duo paired up in the fall and won the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic, defeating Louisville in the championship match.

Richmond and Porter become the first Knights since the 2010 season to land in the national rankings for doubles play. The duo of Mark Rocafort and Blaze Schwartz opened the campaign ranked 21st, while Joe Delinks and Eugene Dologovykh ranked 39th.

This is the second straight season that Porter has found himself in the Oracle/ITA rankings. He opened the fall 2015 campaign at 103rd in the Oracle/ITA preseason singles rankings.

The Knights open the 2017 season against Texas Tech on Jan. 14 at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla.
