Tussle with Tulsa

Listen Live Stats Game Notes Watch

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After back-to-back losses to Memphis and SMU, the UCF men's basketball team looks to get back in the win column Saturday at Tulsa.  The Knights and Golden Hurricane are set to tip-off at 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT with coverage on ESPNews and FM 96.9 The Game.

UCF (14-6, 5-3 AAC) is only a half-game behind Tulsa (11-8, 5-2 AAC) in the American Athletic Conference standings and would move past the Golden Hurricane into third place with a win on Saturday.

A win would be the first ever for the Knights at Tulsa.  The Golden Hurricane has won all eight games between the two teams in Oklahoma.  Tulsa leads the overall series 11-6 and has won three in a row against UCF.

The Knights are coming off nearly taking down second place SMU on Wednesday, but ultimately fell 65-60 to the Mustangs at CFE Arena. B.J. Taylor led UCF with season highs of 22 points and eight rebounds in the defeat.

Taylor leads the Knights with 16.5 points and 4.3 assists per game this season.  His marks would rank fourth and sixth in the American Athletic Conference, respectively, if he qualified.  Taylor has played in six games since returning from a thumb injury earlier this season.

Tulsa has impressive conference wins over UConn and Memphis and its only loss was to Houston in a 5-1 start to league play.  The Golden Hurricane most recently fell on the road at East Carolina to drop to 5-2 in The American.

Saturday's game will air on ESPNews with Dave LaMont and Bryndon Manzer calling the action. Fans can also listen to the game on FM 96.9 The Game, the iHeart radio app and the UCF Knights app with Voice of the Knights Marc Daniels on the call.
