ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team is set for its third meet of the indoor season, heading to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invitational on Friday.

The two-day event will take place inside the Clemson University Indoor Complex.

The Knights return to action after a solid performance at the 2017 Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational, one of the nation's premier early-season indoor track and field meets. UCF collected eight Top 10 finishes against a field that included seven ranked teams.

Redshirt senior Anne-Marie Blaney highlighted the weekend, setting a school record with her winning time of 9:18.87 in the 3000-meter run. Her performance earned the American Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week laurels, giving the Ocala, Fla., native her 14th conference honor as a Knight.

With two weeks of indoor competition under their belt, the Knights have earned 14 top-five finishes this season. UCF has also been recognized by the league office twice this season. In addition to Blaney's award on Monday, senior Chelsea Gobourne was named The American Female Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 17 after a career-best 65-01.25/19.84m distance in the weight throw at the UAB Blazer Invitational.

For the second straight weekend, the Knights will face tough competition as three teams – No. 15 NC State, No. 22 Alabama and No. 24 South Carolina – rank in the Top 25 of the USTFCCCA poll. Host Clemson landed just outside of the top 25, coming in at No. 26.
