ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—The UCF volleyball team has added transfer Erin Olson to the 2017 roster. The freshman setter joins the Knights from Bradley.
"We are look forward to adding Erin to our volleyball family," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "She grew up in a coaching family so she understands what it takes to be a champion on and off the court."
The Cary Ill., native, comes to UCF after one season at Bradley, where she was recruited by UCF associate head coach Jenny Maurer. With the Braves, Olson finished with a team-high 582 assists, averaging 6.0 assists per set. She also recorded 194 digs and 25 kills throughout the season. She recorded a game-high 49 assists in the Braves season opener against Milwaukee on Aug. 26.
"She will add immediate depth to the setting position with a year of collegiate play under her belt," Dagenais said. "She is familiar with the style and tempo of offense we like to run. Most importantly, she adds to our team as an outstanding student, and has the ability to be a team leader at some point early in her career."
The Knights are currently preparing for their spring slate.
