ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF Hall of Famer and all-time leading scorer Bo Clark announced his retirement as Flagler men's basketball head coach at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Clark was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American for the Knights, leading the nation in scoring with an average of 31.6 points per game in 1977.  He still holds 13 scoring records at UCF, including points in a game (70), points in a season (806) and points in a career (2,886).

Clark, who played for his father "Torchy" at UCF, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998. He had his number 23 retired following his career with the Knights.

After graduating with both his bachelor's and master's degree from UCF, Clark went on to coach for 36 years before making his retirement official on Monday.

As the head coach at Flagler for the last 31 seasons, Clark went into 2016-17 with 481 victories, tied for the 20th among active NCAA Division II coaches in career wins.  He has led the Saints to three trips to the NAIA National Tournament (2003-05) and has been named conference coach of the year three times.

"I have had the most incredible tenure at Flagler, but I decided that the time was right to pass the torch," said Clark. "I love coaching and leading this team, but I am looking forward to starting the next chapter in my life."
