ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—The UCF women's tennis team hosts Bethune-Cookman on Sunday at the USTA National Campus.
UCF's match against Bethune-Cookman is slated for a 3 p.m. start, but, if a time change is necessary, it will be determined on Saturday by 6 p.m.
"We are excited to get an opportunity to come out and build on some good things we did against Iowa," said head coach Bryan Koniecko.
Last weekend, UCF (2-1) fell to Iowa in their debut at the USTA National Campus, but defeated Flagler and Florida Tech earlier in the week.
"Our team knows that every opponent we play will be tough and that we have to be ready to compete for every point," Koniecko said. "That has been our focus for the last four days in practice and I am excited to see us compete this Sunday."
Junior Emilia Granstrom is 3-0 on the year, splitting time at the No. 4 and No. 5 position. Granstrom and Natalia Serrano are 3-0 on the second doubles court.
Bethune-Cookman also opens its season on Sunday. The Wildcats have a new head coach, Val Vilucci, who joins the team after more than 20 years with the men's and women's tennis programs at the University of Rhode Island.
Live scoring and live streaming will be available for the matches.
