ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Winners of their last four, the Knights return to CFE Arena Tuesday night to host East Carolina in an American Athletic Conference contest. UCF and ECU are scheduled to tip-off at 7:15 p.m. on ESPNews.
The Knights (11-3, 2-0 AAC) are coming off of their biggest American win ever, defeating Temple 77-53 on Saturday. It was UCF's largest margin of victory in an AAC game since the conference began play in 2013-14.
The defense continues to shine, as UCF set an American Athletic Conference record by holding Temple to just 11 points in the first half on Saturday. The Knights lead the nation by allowing just 32.5 percent shooting from the floor and are giving up an AAC low 57.9 points per game.
A win against East Carolina (9-6, 1-1 AAC) on Tuesday would give UCF a 3-0 start to American Athletic Conference play for the first time ever. The last time the Knights started 3-0 in conference action was as a member of Conference USA in 2011-12.
The Pirates come to Orlando having won two of their last three games. ECU defeated USF 60-49 to start league play, but dropped a 75-44 contest to SMU on Saturday. The Knights won both games against East Carolina last season and hold a 16-9 advantage over the Pirates in the all-time series.
