Opens in a new window 2017 Schedule

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) --  The UCF women's tennis team opens the 2017 season with three matches over a five-day span.

The Knights open the season at home for the fifth consecutive year. The Black and Gold host Flagler on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 3 p.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex before taking on Florida Tech on campus on Friday.

"I am very excited about the year, about starting a new chapter with UCF Tennis," said head coach Bryan Koniecko. "Obviously a lot of people put in great work for us to have this facility. I know our players are excited to experience it. The work they (the players) have put in has shown and we can't wait. The season is going to be great and with a lot of new and exciting things going on for UCF. We hope to represent the university in a great way."

UCF moves to its new home, the USTA National Campus, for the rest of the season on Sunday, Jan. 15 where they will face Iowa.

UCF holds a collective 2-8 record against Flagler and Iowa. This week will mark the first time the Panthers of Florida Tech and the Knights take the court.

Last season the Knights went 12-7, and fell in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference tournament.

UCF returns five players and adds two freshmen to the roster.
