ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – In its final non-conference game of the season, the UCF men's basketball team will play host to in-state foe Bethune-Cookman Wednesday night at CFE Arena. Tip-off between the Knights and the Wildcats is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN3.

It marks the 26th meeting in the all-time series between the two teams, dating back to a 79-56 UCF win on Dec. 12, 1982.  The Knights hold an 18-7 advantage in the series overall and have defeated the Wildcats in each of the last 11 meetings.

The last Bethune-Cookman victory in the series was a 90-85 Wildcat win in Daytona back on Feb. 23, 1994.

Having played each other seven straight seasons, UCF and Bethune-Cookman recorded just their second overtime game in the series when the two squads met in December of last season.  The Knights came out on top 101-96 at CFE Arena.

UCF trailed by as many as 18 points in that one, before coming all the way back to win it in overtime.  Matt Williams and A.J. Davis both scored in double figures with Williams knocking down three from beyond the arc in the victory.

This year's Knights (8-3) are coming off of an overtime victory of their own, defeating Miami (Ohio) 80-73 at CFE Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Tacko Fall was the story of the day, as the 7-foot-6 center scored a career high 31 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and went 9-of-12 from the free throw line.  It marked his sixth double-double of the season.

The Wildcats (3-9) have struggled during non-conference play in 2016-17, losing their last two times out at USF and at UT Martin.  Bethune-Cookman is winless in seven games on the road.  Brand Tabb leads the Wildcats with 20.8 points per game.

Fans can watch Wednesday night's matchup on ESPN3 and WatchESPN with Drew Fellios and former UCF Mike O'Donnell on the call.  Marc Daniels and former Knight Taylor Young will have the action on FM 96.9 The Game and the iHeart Radio app.
