ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2016 Division I All-Region teams Wednesday. Among those honored was UCF junior Saga Fredriksson.
Fredriksson, who was also named the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Co-Defensive Player of the Year, appeared in all 19 matches with the Knights this season. She made 18 starts, logged 1,670 minutes and netted one goal and two assists on the season. She played 13 complete games including five matches that went to overtime and five consecutive (three OT) complete games to finish the season.
A consummate leader and teammate, Fredriksson's tenacity on the field has earned her the respect of opponents and coaches around the league. She was one of 10 players from the AAC to be recognized by the NSCAA.
