ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's basketball team will play the first of two home games before the holiday break when the Knights host Miami (Ohio) on Sunday. Tip-off against the Redhawks is set for noon at CFE Arena.
The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and be available on WatchESPN with Alex Faust and Mark Wise calling the action. Fans can also listen to the Knights on FM 96.9 The Game and the iHeart Radio app with Marc Daniels and Taylor on the call.
The Knights (7-3) will look to bounce back from two losses in a row with a win on Sunday. After starting the season 7-1, UCF has fallen at home to Penn and on the road to George Washington.
The Redhawks (5-5), meanwhile, come to Orlando off of a win at home against IUPUI. Miami is 0-3 on the road this season with losses at Wright State, Fort Wayne and Missouri.
Sunday marks just the second meeting between UCF and Miami (Ohio), as the two teams squared off for the first time ever early last season. The Redhawks came out on top in Oxford, Ohio, winning 64-63, after trailing nearly the entire game.
Tacko Fall led a balanced UCF attack with 10 points and three blocks a year ago, while Miami was led to victory by Eric Washington's 15 points and 13 from both Geovonie McKnight and Willie Moore. None of those three return for the Redhawks this season.
Fall has continued to show improvement through his second season, as we led the Knights once again on Thursday. The 7-foot-6 center went 7-of-10 from the floor for 16 points, added seven rebounds and blocked four shots.
The Dakar, Senegal native still holds the nation's best field goal percentage at 81.6 percent and is second in rebounding at 12.5 per game. He's also 11th in the American Athletic Conference in scoring at 14.0 points per game.
Following Sunday's matchup against Miami, UCF will return to CFE Arena on Wednesday to host Bethune-Cookman. Tip-off between the Knights and the Wildcats is scheduled for 7 p.m.
