Charging On To Cincinnati

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After putting together a dominating defensive performance in the win against Tulane, the Knights (5-4, 3-2 The American) turn their focus to Cincinnati (4-5, 1-4 The American). UCF hosts the Bearcats on Saturday at noon on ESPNU at Bright House Networks Stadium.

Cincinnati will be the second game of the three game home stand. Saturday will also be a special one because it will be UCF's Military Appreciation game, honoring the men and women who serve in our armed forces. The game is set for a noon kick on ESPNU and #UCFansWear all gold this week.

Head coach Scott Frost cited it being an honor to run out onto the field to support the military and looks forward to the opportunity.

"I think any time we are able to tip our cap to the people who make it possible to do what we do, it's an honor," Frost said. "We all know someone who has served this country. We have the freedoms we enjoy because of the sacrifices they made. This game is just a small gesture, but anything we can do to recognize them means a lot to me and this program."

The reigning American Defensive Player of the Week, redshirt senior Drico Johnson, believes the team has to remain hungry and not get too confident in their quest to become bowl eligible.

"We have to remain hungry, it would be a great feeling to get a bowl game in my senior year and to spend another couple of weeks with my teammates," Johnson said. "We also can't get too confident. It is another game and anything can happen. We want to take advantage of the opportunity and do what we have to do to get another win."
