ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - Head Coach Scott Frost made his regular media appearances this Thursday in preparation of this Saturday's Military Appreciation Day game against Cincinnati.

With Mike Bianchi on FM 96.9 The Game's morning show Open Mike, Frost touted the Knights' defense and the work of Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander following last weekend's impressive 37-6 victory over Tulane.

"I keep saying his name. Coach Chinander has done an unbelievable job," Frost said. "Where the defense has gotten to this year has been impressive. I'm really happy for all the seniors on our football team. A lot of them are on defense. That whole defensive group has come together."

Following Thursday's practice, Frost spoke to the media about the Cincinnati game, which kicks off at noon on ESPNU.  The team's helmets were a big topic of conversation, as the Knights will be honoring the military with special head gear.  One side will feature a stars and stripes UCF stack logo, while the other will feature one of the five branches of the military, chosen by each individual player.

"There are five branches of the military and we wanted to honor all of them," Frost said of the helmets. "The sacrifice those people make for the country is amazing. Football coaches have a tendency to compare the commitment that their kids make to military service, but that's really doing military service a disservice, because it's not the same."
