TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—
The UCF volleyball team won its fourth American Athletic Conference match with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) victory over Houston on Friday afternoon.

"I thought we played well when we needed to, and I thought we scraped hard," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "I commend (Houston) for a lot of the things they did. I thought we were able to get some really nice kills on important points, put a lot of pressure on them with our serve. I think we played some pretty good defense."

The Knights jumped out to an early 9-3 lead in the first set. The set went back and forth before UCF pushed ahead down the stretch for a 25-20 win. The Black and Gold came out strong in the second, going on a 12-5 run to start. The Knights never lost the lead and took the second 25-19. Houston came out swinging in the third, jumping to an early 10-5 lead but UCF came back fighting to take a 14-13 lead. The Knights used the momentum to finish off the match.
