ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After returning a kickoff 100 yards at East Carolina on Saturday, freshman running back Adrian Killins was tabbed as the American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. The league office announced the weekly honors on Monday.

The 100-yard return for a touchdown by Killins was the fourth in UCF history and the first time since Todd Cleveland accomplished the feat on Sept. 17, 1994, against Bethune-Cookman. It was just the third time the Daytona Beach, Fla., native fielded a kickoff this season.

Killin's return, the 20th kick return touchdown in UCF history, came on the ensuing kickoff after East Carolina opened the scoring in the second quarter.

Redshirt senior linebacker Mark Rucker was selected to The American Honor Roll after finishing the contest with 10 tackles, including eight solo. One of the Miramar, Fla., native's three tackles for loss ended up being a safety that put the Knights ahead 9-7. He also registered a sack against the Pirates.

The Knights are back home at Bright House Networks Stadium on Friday against Tulane. The kickoff on ESPNU is set for 8 p.m.
