Clipped by Cincinnati

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's soccer team dropped a tough one at home Thursday, as Cincinnati took down the Knights 2-0 at the UCF Soccer Complex.

Despite out shooting the Bearcats 14-11 including 10-5 in the first half, the Black and Gold were unable to find the back of the net.

Four different Knights had taken quality shots in the first 20 minutes and it looked like UCF was in control. But with just over a minute to play in the half, Cincinnati converted a set piece corner attempt taking a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

The Bearcats kept that momentum in the second half, as they came out hungry and put together another goal in the 49th minute. The Knights were only able to manage a few quality chances after that, including a laser from senior Cortney O'Connell the deflected off the crossbar.

The Bearcats would control the match down the stretch, keeping the Knights from attempting a single shot in the last 17 minutes of the game to secure the victory.
