ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF women's tennis closed out their first fall tennis tournament in Tampa on Sunday at the Bedford Cup.
Monica Matias lost a heartbreaker in the finals of the Lindsay Davenport Flight to Vanja Klaric of USF. Matias grabbed the first set, winning 6-4, but the junior dropped the next two 6-1, 6-1.
Matias came back in doubles action with senior Cortney Cesarini, falling in another close match, 8-6, to Florida State's duo of Nandini Das and Ariana Rahmaparast.
The Knights return to action next weekend at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational. The three-day tournament will be held at the FGCU Tennis Complex in Fort Myers, Florida.
