ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As a part of an annual homecoming tradition, UCF Rowing invited parents and alumni back to interact with the current members of the program on Lake Pickett. The Knights held their Parent's Appreciation Day on Oct. 15 and held an Alumni Row the following morning.

At the Parents Appreciation Day, the Knights revealed the name of their new 4+ boat, UCFast. As the winner of the program's annual black and gold competition, the black team was provided the honor of christening the boat.

Head coach Becky Cramer also announced to the friends of the program a special project to clear the brush around the boat dock and build a spectator boardwalk.

"Recently, the Wasco family reached out and wanted to help improve UCF Rowing along with supporting and highlighting the things that our program is doing," coach Cramer said. "They have put forth a lead donation to improve our spectating area."

This lead donation will help begin funding the project, which is set to start as soon as all the required resources have been received. For more information or to support the project, please contact the Golden Knights Club office at 407-823-2086 or goldenknightsclub@athletics.ucf.edu.

During the Alumni Row, five boats joined the current varsity squad for a Sunday morning workout on Lake Pickett. The current and former rowers had an opportunity to interact following the session on the water. Click here for a full photo gallery from the event.
