ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- In a 15-team field, packed with 10 Top 50 teams, the No. 45 UCF men's golf squad finished 10th at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational held at Isleworth Golf & Country Club.
The Knights finished in front of teams that were ranked No. 35 (North Texas) and No. 42 (New Mexico). No. 7 Florida ran away with the team title at -20 for the tournament. No. 3 Vanderbilt (-9) was the only other team to finish under par.
After a red-hot 68 (-4) in the opening round, sophomore Donnie Trosper came back the field a bit in the second and third rounds, but still turned in a Top 15 finish among some solid competition. Trosper finished at even par and tied for 14th after second and third rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+1).
Junior Manuel Elvira (75-70-80, +9) finished in a tie for 42nd. Freshman Bobby Bai (75-77-75, +11) was tied for 46th. Senior Ryan Stovash and sophomore Kyler Tate were both 12-over and finished in a tie for 52nd.
