ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After consecutive close 3-2 defeats on the road in conference play, UCF completes a stretch of away matches by taking a short drive up I-4 to Stetson on Tuesday. The contest is set for a 7 p.m. start in DeLand.

Noting the Knights

  • Junior Matias Pyysalo surpassed a career-best in goals by scoring his seventh at Memphis. The Helsinki, Finland, native has found the score sheet in each of the last five matches, accumulating 10 points (4 G, 2 A).
  • Since returning from an injury that forced him out over a month, freshman Cal Jennings has assisted on two goals from Pyysalo and netted a goal of his own in two contests.
  • Freshman Matt Rosenberg notched back-to-back shutouts against SMU and Northwestern. His shutout streak reached 216 minutes before conceding a goal at Memphis.
  • The Knights earned their second-straight shutout on Oct. 5 against Northwestern, 1-0, as sophomore Anton Delwer scored the lone goal.
  • Three goals have been tallied by freshman Richard Amon, who is second on the team in points with seven.
  • After starting and completing the first nine matches in his UCF career, sophomore Jonathan Dean's streak of playing 810-consecutive minutes came to an end at Tulsa. He missed the trip to attend a family wedding.
  • Head coach Bryan Cunningham is in his 10th season at the helm of the Knights.

Last Time Out

  • Senior Javier Clavijo scored at equalizer in the 87th minute at Tulsa, but 30 seconds later the Golden Hurricane retook the lead to secure a 3-2 win.
  • The marker was set up by Matias Pyysalo, who gave the Knights a 1-0 advantage in the 60th minute.
  • An assist was credited to Cal Jennings on the first goal for playing a beautiful cross from the wing.
  • Matt Rosenberg was forced to make four saves in the contest.

Scouting the Hatters

  • Stetson enters its final non-conference match with a 3-7-2 overall mark, which includes victories over VCU, UNC Asheville and USC Upstate.
  • The Hatters have registered draws against Old Dominion and Tulsa.
  • Luke Ferreira paces the Stetson offense with four goals and three assists, while two goals and a team-best 31 shots have been fired by Gabriel Diniz.
  • Three victories and 71 saves have been registered by goalkeeper Paul Ladwig, who has started all 12 matches.

  • Matias Pyysalo paces the Knights with 18 points, which includes seven goals and four assists.
  • The Helsinki, Finland, native notched a game-winning goal against SMU and now has five in his career. He had the GWG last year against Grand Canyon, Jacksonville, Stetson and Cincinnati.
