Orlando, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Several former UCF student-athletes gathered at IOA Plaza outside of Bright House Networks Stadium before UCF football's game against Temple. All of them came back to campus for Homecoming and for the Varisty Knights tailgate.
"I think getting that alumni base back is really key to getting the program to continue to grow," said Anne Marie Williams, a member of the rowing team and 2008 graduate. "Seeing all the athletes come out for something like this, I was really happy to see that."
Representatives from all of UCF's athletic teams as far back as the 1980's came back to campus to celebrate UCF's Homecoming.
"It's great to see people you played ball with back in the day," said Steve Dovale, a member of the football team and 1989 graduate. "You lose touch with a lot of them and it's nice to reconnect when you get the opportunity and to have the atmosphere that you have at homecoming is very cool."
